Fire Fighter In Training – Graduate of Pre-Service Fire Fighter Course at Sir Sandford Fleming College

Stewart McCue a member of Georgina Island First Nation worked with the Georgina Fire Department under the supervision of the Deputy Fire Chief as full-time recruit firefighter. He completed a forty- week program including in-house training at the Georgina Fire hall. Ogemawahj Tribal Council funded Mr. McCue’s firefighter training in partnership with the First Nation under the targeted wage subsidy program.

Stewart continued to learn all procedures, training sessions, perform daily tasks and responsibilities and attended all courses as required including DZ Fire truck driver training.

Recently hired as a full-time firefighter with the Georgina Fire Department Congrats to everyone in producing this outstanding enthusiastic young man for a career he has a passion for.
