Jobs related to the Casino Rama Resort began with construction
jobs. Training and experience in skilled trades were key goals
in the construction process. Jobs inside the Resort vary from
working in the restaurants to dealing cards or driving a bus.
Many of the jobs at the Resort are held by Chippewas of Rama
First Nation members, but there are also many First Nations
people from other communities and non-Indigenous people
who work in or around the Resort.

Chippewas of Rama First Nation continues to grow in business
opportunities. Many of our members who moved away to find
employment years ago are now seeking to return to Rama.
Many residents still work outside of the community, but Rama
has one of the highest rates of employment for First Nations in
the area and in all of Canada. Our population has grown with
the increased job opportunities as our members return and
members of other First Nations come to Rama for work.
