Transportation
Chippewas of Rama First Nation sits at the top of Lake Simcoe
on Lake Couchiching, so at one time, one of the main routes
to the community was by water. Now, our community is easily
accessible by Highway 12 if you take county road 44, Rama Road,
north at Atherly. Most people own cars or trucks, as there is
limited transportation to or from the community by bus. There
are school buses that provide transportation back and forth to
school in Orillia. Our First Nation owns a fleet of vehicles to assist
with transportation for medical purposes, or for trips such as
organized short trips to local communities.
