A Day in the Life of Our Grade 6 Students
Tya and Linda started out going to school
together in Orillia when they began
Kindergarten. That meant that for their first
years at school, they rode a bus each day.
Later, Linda’s mother decided to put Linda
in school at Mnjikaning Kendaaswin Elementary
School. Tya still attends the school in Orillia,
and most of their cousins attend one or the
other of these schools.
Tya’s day starts a little earlier than Linda’s
does, as she must get up and catch the bus
into town each day. Both Linda and Tya stay at
school for lunch, though. Linda could go home,
but she likes to stay at school to visit with
her friends.
After school, the girls check in at home, and
then head over to the MASK Arena. Linda
often has a hockey game, and Tya watches
for a while before she goes outside to hang
out with her friends. They’ll probably go over
