Transportation
Most people in our First Nation have their own vehicles. We
travel on Highway 45, a well-maintained highway that comes
right through our territory. This route provides easy access to
local towns and cities and attracts people to our retail shops. All
types of vehicles, including cars and heavy transport trucks, use
this road.
The speed limit through our community has been reduced
from 80 kilometres per hour to 70 kilometres per hour. With
the number of retail establishments, like the Tall Teepee, which
continue to grow, some of our members would like to see the
speed limit brought down even further to 50 or 60 kilometers
per hour. They are hoping to reduce the chance of accidents.
Perhaps we will see this change in the near future.
