            Chief: Barron King

Councillors: Myrna Burnside, Joely Schrader, Linda Williams, Josh Isaac
            Day One: Traditional Leadership Selection
             1. Lead a discussion on how the class might select a traditional
leader to be class chief. Make a list of good leadership qualities
related to taking care of your schoolyard—the new chief is going
to lead a schoolyard improvement initiative.
             2. Select a leader with the requisite leadership qualities.
             3. The chosen leader must then, in collaboration with their
classmates, select a schoolyard issue that is a priority for them.
             4. The new leader should gather data about the issue and then, as
spokesperson, invite the principal to come to the class to hear
their concerns. Input from all the students is welcome throughout
               the process.
             5. Closing Circle (see below)

Day Two: Review Day One learning, add to KWL chart
             1. Have the principal come to the class to inform them that the
traditional leadership selection process done yesterday is not
acceptable. The principal will take on the role of “the Crown.” The
class must now go through an election process that has been
               imposed on them.
