Music
There is quite a bit of musical talent found throughout the
Chippewas of Rama First Nation. Like the First Nations around
us, we have a legacy of musicians who have shone with
guitars, drumming, and harmonicas. Music is a social activity,
and many of our members have visited other communities
with instruments in hand. We boast our fair share of bands and
individual performers, and over the years, they have brought
their musician friends into our community.

We also enjoy hand drumming in our community. Hand drums
are used in a purely social way and are also used in spiritual
practice. Hand drums are used by both men and women. Many
First Nation women take part in women’s hand drum groups. Our
