Music is important in our community. Our brass band, formed
in the 1920s, was popular in its time, and was a well-known
ambassador for our community. The band toured in the United
States to raise money to build the church in Alderville.
Today, we have members who participate in music both for
fun and for work. A traditional drum group called the Rice Lake
Singers, singer/songwriters Cale Crowe and Dave Mowat are
just some of the many people in our community who play
different types of music. We also host musical events, including
a yearly bluegrass festival.
