Population
As of 2018, the population of our First Nation was approximately
1168 people. This population only includes Status Indians. Status
Indian refers to someone whose parents are of First Nations
ancestry and whose birth has been registered with Crown-
Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada.
There may be other members of our First Nation who are not
registered or who do not qualify according to the strict CIRNAC.
As a result, the number of people who belong to the First Nation
or are related to members of the First Nation may be higher than
the registration list shows.

off-territory
Our population includes people who live on our territory and people who
live in other First Nation and non-Indigenous communities. These numbers
are not exact since people come and go from our territory.
There are also non-Indigenous people living in and around the
community of Alderville. Most have grown up in this area as we
have, and they maintain a working relationship with First Nation
members. They might lease farmland from our members or they
might work with our members in one of the small businesses
around our community.
