The Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, Water Unit
Purpose: How does water affect our First Nations communities?

Objectives:
1. demonstrate an understanding of the principles involved in
the structuring of works in drama and dance
2. interpret and communicate the meaning of novels,
scripts, legends, fables, and other material drawn from a
range of sources and cultures, using a variety of drama
and dance techniques, and evaluate the effectiveness of
the techniques
3. create dance pieces, using a variety of techniques
4. demonstrate understanding of ways of sustaining the
appropriate voice or character when speaking or writing in
role for different purposes
5. recognize when it is necessary to sustain concentration in
drama and dance
6. create, rehearse, and present drama and dance works to
communicate the meaning of poems, stories, paintings,
myths, and other source material
7. solve artistic problems in drama and dance, individually and
in groups, and evaluate the solutions
Knowledge and Understanding. Subject-specific content
acquired in each subject or course (knowledge), and the
comprehension of its meaning and significance (understanding).
Thinking. The use of critical and creative thinking skills and/
or processes. Communication. The conveying of meaning and
expression through various forms. Application. The use of
knowledge and skills to make connections within and between
various contexts.
