Recreation
There are many places in our community
for us to relax and have fun. The community

Arena, and the Nanabush Trail system.
Baseball, hockey, and golf are played regularly
by our members, and we hold annual
tournaments that memorialize our members.
The Eric Charles Memorial Baseball Tournament
and The Brett Mooney Memorial Golf
Tournament engage cottagers and islanders
every summer.
The Buzzy Big Canoe Memorial Hockey
Tournament attracts many local townspeople
each winter. The townspeople participate
as much to have fun as they do to honour
the contributions to local hockey made by

Georgina Island.
The island is a great place for our children to
play. The only heavy traffic occurs around ferry
time. During the summer, our children can swim
or fish. In winter, they can also fish or they
can skate on the lake or outdoor ice hockey
rink. There is no rollerblading, skateboarding,
or using scooters on the island because there
are no paved roads or sidewalks. There are
organized sports that our children can take part
in, and we arrange trips to local attractions,
events, or activities.
