Thoughts

We hope that through
sharing the way we live in
our communities today and
the issues we face, you have
learned that we take pride in
our culture and who we are.

The issues that we face are the
need to strengthen our culture
and to protect the rights that
belong to us as the original
people who lived in North
America. When the Treaties
were signed, these rights were
promised to us.

Our Elders remind us that we
are to share what we have
with all people. Some of those
things we have to share may
simply be food, friendship, and
how we care for the land upon
which we all must live.

As people who live on our
Earth become closer through
increased communication
technology, we must learn to
live and respect people whose
belief systems and lifestyles
are different. We believe that
all things are related.
