                                                  fishing rights.

1980 Dr. Ian Johnson begins research on the Williams Treaties on behalf of
                                                  First Nations.

1985 Dr. Johnson completes his research and files a historical report with
                                                  First Nations.

1986 First Nations obtain legal analysis from Mr. Bill Henderson.

1987 First Nations file four claims under the Williams Treaties with the
                                                  federal government.

1991 First Nations file Williams Treaties claims with the
                                                  Ontario government.

1991 First Nations commission legal analysis of claims from
                                                  Mr. Thomas Berger.

1991 First Nations hold the first meeting with Ontario and Canada to
                                                  discuss the claims.

1992 First Nations file litigation in a case known as the Alderville litigation
to seek resolution of the dispute; this goes to trial ten years later.

2012 First Nations allege that the Crown breached its duties to them in
the making and implementing of the Williams Treaties. In particular,
First Nations allege that they were not fairly compensated for their
lands and should have received additional reserve lands at the time

                                                  Treaties No. 5, 16, 18, and 27-27 1/4.

2016 First Nations, Canada, and Ontario begin discussions to find common
                                                  ground and negotiate a settlement.

2017 Agreement is made to begin formal negotiations toward a
settlement of the Alderville litigation, and the court case is
adjourned on March 27, 2017, on joint consent of the parties.

negotiated settlement of the Williams Treaties.
