Education
The Education Advisory Office was established in November 1999. An Education Advisory Committee was established and is guided by its Vision Statement:
“In the spirit of unity, the OTC Education Advisory Committee will utilize a collaborative approach to improve the formal education for First Nation people at the Community, Provincial and National levels.”
Services to member First Nations include:
- Special Education advisory services
- Education Services Contract development and negotiation
- Post-secondary funding policy development
- Education as a key component in Self-government
- School Reviews of First Nation operated schools
- Capacity Building and Professional Development for Education Managers
- Information gathering and resource services
- Curriculum development
