Bayshore Variety is a locally owned and operated business that provides grocery and fuel services as well as a fully functional restaurant for eat in or take out foods.
In November 2016, Mrs. Sandy approached the OTTER program for a targeted wage subsidy to train Ms. MacDonald into become a full time Sales Associate with increased responsibility in the daily operations of the store. Some of the new duties learned my Ms. MacDonald while training were, emergency preparedness, stock rotation, operation of cash register and POS machine with daily balancing reports, use of gas receipts for gas purchases by band members and billings for accounts receivable sales for various departments of the First Nation government.
Tandy stated that she enjoys working at the store and learning the many new aspects of daily operations. She interacts with all the customers in a cheerful manner and has been told she has excellent customer service skills!
The successful completion of Tandy’s training allowed for her to gain full time employment at Bayshore Variety.
